Arguably the worst sufferer among all those who met trouble in running in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas, won on merit here in a race run on very different ground and in which there appear to be very few, if any, hard luck stories. He finished only 14th at Newmarket when he was eased when all chance had gone. Briefly denied an opening two furlongs out, he quickened up well to challenge between Saturn and France soon afterwards and was in front a furlong out. and was an emphatic winner, underlining just how unlucky he had been at Newmarket. Supplemented for this, he turned the form right around and has now proved himself on both firm and soft ground.
